Salary: Appointment will be made on CNM 2 Grade at a point in line with Government pay policy (€62,699 - €79,227 LSI)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary:
The Clinical Audit Co-Ordinator is responsible for leading, coordinating and implementing National Critical Care Audit at Beaumont Hospital. The role of the Clinical Audit Coordinator in Critical Care, is to coordinate data capture relating to critical care to enable the hospital to clinically benchmark care standards and outcomes for critical care services nationally and internationally. The post has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
COMMUNICATION:
• Communicates with all members of the multidisciplinary team in an appropriate and professional manner at all times
• Reports any unsafe or unprofessional practice to the CNM/line Manager
• Promotes dignity and respect in the workplace amongst colleagues
PROFESSIONAL:
• To accept responsibility and accountability for own personal/professional development and be aware of current trends and strategies in nursing
• Maintain working knowledge of all national and local policies.
• Is punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
• Complies with all online and practical mandatory training as per hospital policy.
MANAGEMENT:
• Demonstrates ability to organise care for caseload of patients in line with all members of the
services and other departments
EDUCATION:
• Completes required orientation as directed by the department
• To promote a learning environment and encourage professional development
• To follow current developments in nursing which will increase professional knowledge and skills
• The individual nurse is responsible for undertaking relevant continued professional development as in line with the NMBI ‘Competency Framework’, in order to develop their own professional practice.
• The applicant must commit to undertake specific courses to enhance their knowledge and skill set, including following the local education pathway as well as attending other relevant courses/study days.
• To be able to teach and act as a guide and link person (after appropriate training) to other nursing staff and students in the department
The job description indicates the main functions and responsibilities of the post and is subject to review and amendment. Other specific work not covered in this job description may also be assigned by the Director of Nursing from time to time.
Selection Criteria:
Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post.
Applications will be assessed on the basis of how well candidates satisfy these criteria.
Mandatory:
• Be registered in the Relevant Division of the Register of Nurses kept by NMBI or be entitled to be so registered
• Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 3 must be in the speciality or related area with demonstrated appropriate clinical experience at this level.
• Have the clinical managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
• Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level
• Ability to work both within a team and independently, planning own workload, setting and reaching goals and submissions.
Desirable:
• IT Skills
• Experience with Excel, Word & Coding
• Previous experience in a similar role
